Percentages describe light blocked by the lining material, not a measured reduction in room brightness. The face fabric, color and window coverage also affect the result.
Gsm means grams per square meter. A 2-pass or 3-pass coating describes how many times the lining is coated. Check your product page for the options available.

Unlined
Keep the natural character of your chosen fabric, with no extra backing layer. Light control and privacy depend on the fabric, weave and color you select.

893-1 lining, 60% shading, 90gsm microfiber. A thinner white non-blackout lining that softly filters daylight without adding a heavy feel.

Thermal Shield
893-6 lining, 100% shading, 250gsm 3-pass coated microfiber. Full blackout with pure white on both sides, plus sound-dampening and thermal insulation.

Choose this when you want a more substantial backing with a pure white finish on both sides. It helps dampen everyday sound but is not acoustic soundproofing.
A blackout lining still needs the right fit
Complete Block and Thermal Shield both have a 100% light-blocking rating through the lining material. Light can still enter above the rod, around the sides or between panels. Allow enough width and overlap to cover your window.
